David was a semi-finalist in the South Australian syndicate of Raw Comedy in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, he was a finalist in Triple M’s Semi-Pro Radio and was a writer/co-host for THE Big Show with Matty B, which aired around Australia on the Triple M Network. He has worked at SAFM as a panel operator, hosted numerous comedy shows on community radio and has a significant presence online. Furthermore, he also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioural Science (Psychology) from Flinders University, SA.
David has hosted a number of comedy shows on radio, beginning in 2006 with The Green Room on Flinders University Student Radio, Radio Adelaide 101.5FM. Three more shows followed; Brain Damage (autumn 2007), Pow-Wow (summer 2007/08) and On The Yacht (summer 2008/09). All shows featured sketches, guests, callers, satire, social commentary, wit-laced talk breaks both genuine and ironic, station IDs (obviously) and (mostly) obscure 80s New Wave music, as well as several high profile interviews, some real, others edited together using audio clips out of context. He has also made regular guest appearances on 891 ABC Adelaide, the Fresh 92.7FM Breakfast Show (Adelaide), the KC-host Radio Network (Missouri, USA) and Traxx Radio (Brisbane, Queensland).
Furthermore, David has created two webseries: Fruitcup (2008) and Too Easy (2010), which also stars fellow Adelaide comedian Alex Williamson. In addition, he has acted as an extra in the Nine Network TV drama series ”McLeod’s Daughters,” and participated in several costume promotions, including dressing up as a light-bulb and as a giant purple echidna. David also occasionally performs stand-up and voice-overs, specialising in character voices. Listen to his 1-minute voice-over demo here.
A keen-ish environmentalist and connoisseur of fine soft drinks, David M. Green also enjoys golf, film, cranberry sauce, light-rail, booth seating, cycling, Dr Pepper, collecting obscure ’80s New Wave records, spending time with friends, and generally making people laugh.
