  • Podcast City! On The Yacht now on iTunes.

Yes! I’ve finally managed to bribe the good people at iTunes HQ to allow the water-breaking comedy show “On The Yacht” on to their respected… place of podcasts.

I mean, this isn’t a new radio show. The episodes have been available here since they aired on Radio Adelaide 101.5FM in the summer of 2008/09. But you know the kids these days. They’re are all about the iTunes…

So you can now find and subscribe to the hilarious On The Yacht podcasts on iTunes, either by searching “On The Yacht” or by clicking this link directly: http://itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/on-the-yacht/id495443318

Join Adam – avid seaman & show anchor – billionaire ladies’ man Norman Vine, socially conscious academic Dr Kevin Goodall & Voice-Over’s Tim Wray in the newsroom for pedantic conversation, special “expert” guests, callers, quizzes, fictional commercials, soft rock & smooth jazz.

Tune in for laid-back chat and a satirical homage to the medium: AM style with FM sound. Come ride the radio waves… On The Yacht…

The first 3 episodes are up there. The rest are on their way.

I’m also panelling (and “producing”, apparently) the new topical podcast by the fabulous Lawrence Mooney & Adam Rozenbachs. Subscribe to “Eye of the Storm” on iTunes here. It’s a comedic, uncensored look back at the week’s events.

PLUS… be on the look out for a brand new well-panelled and completely UNtopical podcast featuring myself and the hilarious Anthony McCormack! But more on that one later…

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
    That’s… 3 podcasts I have.

  • Norman Vine on Barry Radio’s “Bad Blokes”

    Ohohohohohoooooooo YEEEESSSSSS!

    Norman Vine is BACK!

Tune into Bad Blokes on Barry Radio with my good friends Jack Ellis, Luke “Plugga” Harding and Alex Williamson.

If you’re in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth, you can tune in on your digital radio, or else listen online at the following times (Australian Eastern Daylight Time, GMT +11):

    Monday – 8AM
    Wednesday – 4PM
    Thursday – 10PM
    Friday – 11AM
    Saturday – 8AM/4PM/10PM
    Sunday – 4AM/11AM/5PM

I think the guys really mesh well with each other on the air. It’s mostly just laid back chat, but quite dense with gags. They also do the odd sketch here and there.

And of course, a new segment called “The Finer Things” with my alter-ego, eccentric billionaire and notorious ladies man, Norman Vine, which explores life’s finer things and adds a touch of class to the digital radio spectrum. This week we talk about yachting and dressing gowns. That’s right.

A big thanks to the good blokes from Bad Blokes for having me on their show. It’s an absolute pleasure and hopefully they’ll have me on a few more times before they get sick of me!

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
I’ll get back to you, Barry.

  • God-like Status Achieved at TraxxRADIO

    Yo blog-fans!

To my utter surprise (and partial disgust) Brisbane-based Internet radio station TraxxRADIO actually wants to re-broadcast the somewhat funny (at times) AM-style talk-back parody show we did back in summer… On The Yacht.

As soon as Program Director Ruby Tuesday declared his interest, I immediately triple checked we were talking about the same show. In fact we were. It’s not that I think On The Yacht wasn’t funny. Quite the opposite. At its best it’s hilarious. But I think we did such a good parody at times that you could be listening for several minutes before you worked out it’s not a real talk show, and even then you still can’t be sure. For TraxxRADIO’s unwavering dedication (not to be confused with their desperation for programming), I sent them an autographed David M. Green head shot, which they promptly framed and hung on the studio wall. My judgemental expression and sensible hair-cut forever gazing down at and distracting whoever’s on air. Obviously I use the term “head shot” in the G-rated sense. Although the sensible hair-cut extends to all areas of David M. Green.

So once again join Radio’s Adam, Norman Vine, Dr Kevin Goodall and Tim Wray (in the news room) as they potter on about all things irrelevant Wednesdays and Fridays 7am and 7pm AEST (GMT+10) online at TraxxRADIO.

On The Yacht: Not commercial. Professional.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
    Oh ho ho ho yessssss…

  • Carole Whitelock’s invitation to The Dream Factory

    Hey hey,

What a bizarre situation I found myself in yesterday… After a chance meeting with 891 ABC Adelaide’s own Carole Whitelock, whilst working at the Palace Nova cinema (I was working there, not her, obviously), one thing lead to another (no, not in THAT direction…) and she invited me onto her radio show!

I’m of course no stranger to ABC 891. Last year I made some appearances and performed sketch comedy for Peter Goers. Funnily enough, it was that experience, combined with listening to a lot of AM radio in general, that provided the inspiration for my latest comedy show “On The Yacht.” The show featured a number of characters, most of which were based on other personalities from the AM-band. And there I was, ON one of the very shows we, let’s be honest, pillaged for material, talking about how we did it…

I was allowed to play a couple of clips from “On The Yacht.” Surreal to hear them broadcast via amplified modulation, presumably to an audience, which was a nice change. And so much fun. Had a slight technical problem recording it, but hopefully I’ll have the audio up here soon. It’s light entertainment, so I couldn’t be too zany. But then again, that’s what “On The Yacht” was all about… at least, initially… but then it got pretty zany at the end… I think we had a ghost in the studio at one point…

But anyway, here’s the clip: Click here click here click here. And thank you also to Elk and Robbie, Carole’s fantastic producers, who, unlike certain others that shall remain nameless, managed to play the sketches without cutting them off with a bushfire alert.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
