  • 31 Questions: Crowdfunding Endgame

    And now we enter endgame…

With 4 days left of the 31 Questions crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, we’ve raised the unbelievable amount of $1,692!

We’ve already long since surpassed our original goal of $1,000. But can we now get to $2,000? It’s up to YOU.

Here are some tasty morsels that might convince you to contribute…

Want to impress your friends and family with your knowledge of answers? Do it via this convenient “Moderator Mug”, while also questioning whether they too are aware of the answer that you yourself claim to know. Featuring a drinkable TV’s Anthony McCormack in his signature pointing pose, this mug will make a welcome addition to your cupboard or dishwasher. Available now for $31. All proceeds go towards production of Season 2 of 31 Questions!

And the next 8 lucky fans who donate $10 to the show on Indiegogo won’t just receive a personally autographed headshot of benevolent host David M. Green, you’ll also receive an ORIGINAL SEASON ONE QUESTION CARD (featuring actual printed questions, hand-written notes AND last minute gags)! As used during the taping of Episodes 12 & 13, 17 May 2012. Think of how much these are going to be worth once David M. Green has moved on to better things and/or died! Strictly limited to the next 8 crowdfunders.
We’ve now received contributions ranging from $2 to $100 from 65 individuals in 4 countries. Check out this map of their approximate locations:

    How cool is that!?!?

We’re already using this money to pay for tapes, printing, hard drives, set materials, electronic components for the new buzzers, postage, “fabulous” prizes, parking, costumes and all matter of miscellaneous things needed to make some sort of television show.

It’s very touching knowing there’s so much love out there for this scruffy underdog of a game show. I had an exchange of Facebook messages over the weekend from a gentleman in Chicago, who informs me his whole family has been enjoying Season 1 on YouTube.

And what put the biggest smile on my face was finding out his 7-year-old son has been repeatedly quoting the punchline “Just my colon”, as delivered by Sophie Loughran in Episode 4, and “dying laughing”. Evidently, American children are better educated on punctuation than their Aussie counterparts. I don’t think I learned what a colon was (either definition) until I was twice that age.

This might be good karma for all the times I myself have quoted The Blues Brothers, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, National Lampoon’s Vacation and any other motion picture set in The Windy City.

Keep those donations coming in. They’re making a big difference. I’ll leave you with some more Season 1 outtakes, highlighting a few community TV problems. Hopefully we’ll avoid them in Season 2. But somehow, I doubt it…

No sir, Mayor Daley doesn’t dine here any more. He’s dead sir.

  • I’ve got 31 Questions for New Zealand

Hello New Zealand (and the rest of you)!

As of 8.31PM this evening New Zealand time, 31 Questions became an internationally broadcast TV game show!

Season 1 is now airing Thursdays 8.30PM on Face TV, which is available everywhere in New Zealand on Sky Channel 089 AND on the old “Triangle TV” free-to-air frequencies in these respected parts of Auckland:

    • Waiatarua UHF 41 or 631.25 MHz
    • Remuera UHF 52 or 719.25 MHz
    • Pine Hill UHF 42 or 639.25 MH

Meanwhile, our crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo has now raised $1,105 for Season 2- That’s 10% over our goal! Of course, we do need a little more money than that to shoot the whole second season. But the first thousand bucks is certainly a big load off my mind.

    Thank YOU so much.

We’ve still got 3 weeks left on the campaign and we’ve still got plenty of mugs and headshots to give away.

But if you haven’t donated yet, there’s still time for you to become just like THESE crazed fans (shown here in order of least to most crazy):

    Yeeeeaaaaahhhh…

    Sweet dreams.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
She’s RUINED a perfectly good headshot!?!

  • 31 Questions Season 2 needs YOU!

THAT’S RIGHT! After a hilariously low budget first season, 31 Questions is coming back with MORE OF THIS:

But now… we’re spending more of our own money – and we want to spend yours too!

I’ve set up a crowd-funding campaign on IndieGoGo. We’re aiming to raise $1,000 by the end of February to help with production costs for the second season of the ragtag TV game show everyone’s listening about.

And if you’ve been hankering to get your hands on some fabulous 31 Questions merchandise, this is how to get it. We’ve got mugs, we’ve got T-shirts, we’ve got autographed headshots. And ALL with my face on them!

Postage included? You better believe it.

    Thanks Moe…

And for every donation over $2, we’ll even give you a special thanks in the credits for EVERY episode of Season 2.

Check out a full range of “perks” on our IndieGoGo campaign page. If you’re particularly rich and crazy, you could even have the cast of 31 Questions make a PERSONAL APPEARANCE at your next social gathering.

And if you’re like me – completely flat broke and not the least bit interested in handing out donations – you can still greatly help us by sharing the link with your friends and liking 31 Questions on Facebook.

    See you on TV.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
PS. More info about 31 Questions on New Zealand TV coming soon!

  • Relax Frankie… it’s 31 Questions!

    Ahh… satire.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green

PS. Apologies to my sister Hannah, who thought this was real and told all her friends that her brother is on the cover of upcoming edition of Frankie Magazine.

  • 31 Questions season finale for Adelaide and Perth this week

Due to a mix up in Western Australia, Adelaide has somehow overtaken Perth and will be the first non-Melbourne city to to see the season finale of 31 Questions! How AMAZING is that!?!

Episode 13 of the low budget TV game show all the critics are ignoring was supposed to air on WTV Perth last Saturday, but they made a last minute schedule change. Perth fans can now catch the last episode of season 1 THIS coming Saturday, 24 November 11.30PM (that’s digital channel 44). So scratch that in your fridge.

Adelaide, on the other hand, can watch it first TONIGHT 10.30PM on 44 Adelaide. By gum, that’s only 90 minutes from now!

Left this blog entry a little late…

I was back in Adelaide a couple of weeks ago and did a bit of a radio station crawl. Just after midnight on Monday November 5, I stopped by FiveAA 1395AM to have a chat with Peter Godfrey. Technically, I was his lead guest for the week.

We talked about 31 Questions (obviously), Adelaide versus Melbourne, community TV in general, and some other things that probably aren’t that important. Have a listen here:

    [display_podcast]

Incredibly, Peter Godfrey does that midnight to 6am shift all by himself. No panel operator. And no producer! He screens all the calls himself. Incredible. An absolute pro.

At one point I left the studio to grab a glass of water and take another selfie photo of me in front of the sign and I actually got lost. That FiveAA office is a maze. Ing.

Now for most media whores, that would be enough for the night, but not me. No sir. When it comes to radio, I just can’t quit.

So I hopped in the car (Dad’s), and drove from Hindmarsh Square to fabulous 228 North Terrace for a pre-recorded interview with John Murch at Radio Adelaide 101.5FM. It was about 3AM by the time I left. Not sure when that interview will air. I guess just listen out for RadioNotes on a Sunday night.

Oh, while I’m here, just one more thing. Back in 2007 I won an “Bilby” award for “Best Station ID” at the 2007 South Australian Community Broadcasting Association Awards. It was on display in the Radio Adelaide foyer when I was last there in 2009. But it ain’t there now!

In fact, there’s a space where it should be. There’s awards from 1985 all the way up to 2006. Then the awards just jump to 2008!

So if anyone’s seen it, I’d be very interested to know its current whereabouts. To my knowledge there was only one copy.

And I couldn’t imagine there’d be any single past or present Radio Adelaide station volunteer who would want to see harm come to a physical representation of my talent…

Ha, but seriously… I want that award back.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
    Are Bilbys rare or something?
