  • DMG on American Internet Radio!

In case you missed my “Kansas City to Melbourne” phone-linked conversation with my good friend Brad Westmar last week, you can LISTEN RIGHT HERE.

We chatted about the weather for a bit, then I plugged Too Easy for a while and… pretty much talked about me, David M. Green!

This was the first time I’d talked on air with Brad. Actually the first time I’d ever talked to him on the phone was last week when he called to test whether the Skype call actually worked.

In January 2007 he came across the Myspace page for the Radio Adelaide show I was doing at the time, The Green Room. At the time he was hosting an Internet radio show called The Wild Wild Westmar Show. It turned out we both had similar styles. And a Internet/radio friendship began.

We then started playing clips of each other on our shows, talking about each other’s show, and clips of the clips of us talking about the clips, and so on, which was cool. But neither of us had ever appeared “live” on the other’s show… until now!

I notice there’s quite a satellite delay between Brad asking me a question and me responding, which I can only assume he’s decided to leave in there for authenticity…

To listen to full podcasts of The Brad Westmar Show, go to the Jackalope Radio website. And feel free to follow him on Twitter or Facebook.

Hopefully after I get a job and some money, this year I can make a visit to Kansas City and take Brad up on his generous guest room offer!

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
Oh yes, I also took the opportunity to launch my American singing career. My apologies.

  • God-like Status Achieved at TraxxRADIO

    Yo blog-fans!

To my utter surprise (and partial disgust) Brisbane-based Internet radio station TraxxRADIO actually wants to re-broadcast the somewhat funny (at times) AM-style talk-back parody show we did back in summer… On The Yacht.

As soon as Program Director Ruby Tuesday declared his interest, I immediately triple checked we were talking about the same show. In fact we were. It’s not that I think On The Yacht wasn’t funny. Quite the opposite. At its best it’s hilarious. But I think we did such a good parody at times that you could be listening for several minutes before you worked out it’s not a real talk show, and even then you still can’t be sure. For TraxxRADIO’s unwavering dedication (not to be confused with their desperation for programming), I sent them an autographed David M. Green head shot, which they promptly framed and hung on the studio wall. My judgemental expression and sensible hair-cut forever gazing down at and distracting whoever’s on air. Obviously I use the term “head shot” in the G-rated sense. Although the sensible hair-cut extends to all areas of David M. Green.

So once again join Radio’s Adam, Norman Vine, Dr Kevin Goodall and Tim Wray (in the news room) as they potter on about all things irrelevant Wednesdays and Fridays 7am and 7pm AEST (GMT+10) online at TraxxRADIO.

On The Yacht: Not commercial. Professional.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
    Oh ho ho ho yessssss…

  • David M. Green’s Comedy Machine now on Internet Radio!

    Hi,

David M. Green here. Please feel free to call me DMG for short. Ironic twist about that. I work at SAFM, which is owned by Austereo. One of SAFM’s rival radio stations is Nova, which is owned by the Daily Mirror Group (DMG for short), and since it’s probably frowned upon to mention the competition on air, I’ll probably never be able to point out this amusing ‘spot of irony,’ unless via the Internet of course, where everything goes… everything…

Anyway, some great news if you’re a crazed fan of my comedy shows I did on community radio. No, there’s been no change in the cost of Prozac (fingers crossed). BUT… I CAN say the purpose of this blog is to inform YOU that you can now hear my old shows (The Green Room, Brain Damage & Pow-Wow) every Wednesday evening as they’re re-broadcast (syndicated… if you will) on Traxx Radio from sunny Brisbane, Australia!

The 3 shows are being played in their glorious entirety under the name “David M. Green’s Comedy Machine” every Wednesday 7PM GMT+10 (so that’s 6:30PM in Adelaide), starting from Wednesday July 16th 2008. Just go to www.traxxradio.net to listen online and the laughter will live on… that sounded a little corny. Do we have anything better? …We don’t… ok. Denise could you also pick up my dry-cleaning? Thanks. Oh yeah, just finish that up for me. End dictation.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
