  • VHS Revue 8 – Wiseguy (1993)

It’s the 8th installment of VHS Revue! Wow 8 episodes. I reckon that’s enough to call it a proper webseries now.

This week I took a look through a circa 1993 tape of an episode of the late 80s/early 90s police drama “Wiseguy” – a show I’ve never heard of.

Highlights include ads for Brunnings lawn seed, Sizzler, Link Introductions, TyreMag (which I think might now be banned?), Bob Moran used cars (who is DEFINITELY now banned), Solver Paints, and another thing. Footage recorded from Channel Nine Adelaide and used here for review, parody and satirical purposes (obviously).

This is the last episode I’ve got in the can. But they’ve been fun to make and I’ve got a few more tapes with good stuff on them. So keep your lips peeled for number 9.

    Thanks for watching/liking/tweeting/subscribing/etc. It’s always a thrill.

Big thanks especially to Alexis Kotlowy for the fabulous theme music and opening title sequences. And Nicholas Godfrey for his VHS camera. Though I did spot it in Cash Converters for him, so really, it’s mostly me.

Keep track of VHS Revue on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

  • VHS Revue 4 – 12 O’clock High (1989)

Hi dudes. On VHS Revue Ep 4, I take a look at a 1989 Channel 10 recording of the 1949 war film “12 O’clock High”. (Got all those numbers?)

Highlights include ads for: Dynamo washing powder (with Mother & Son), Miss J. M., Honda CRX (my favourite), Planters Nuts, Ashley & Martin, and some other things. AND if you watch all the way to the end, there are singing cats.

Plus a surprise appearance from TV’s Michael Pope!

Thanks again to Michael Pope for “agreeing” to be in this episode of VHS Revue. If you’re a Gen Y like me, you might remember him from those 90s kids game shows “Blockbusters” and “Total Recall”. One of the finest MCs in Australia and if you’re ever lucky enough to be in the studio audience for a TV show and he’s the warm up guy, you’re in for a fun night. Also check out his podcast: An Audience with the Pope for some great celebrity chats.

Cheers as always to Nick Godfrey & Alexis Kotlowy. And to Antonio Cafasso, Matthew Smith, Annika Samuelsson & Hannah Green for their help on this one.

  • The Good Show Ep 4 – Andrew Bolt Loves Animals

Hold on to your pants because it’s a brand new episode of The Good Show! The sketch comedy podcast with Anthony’s McCormack and the me guy.

In Ep 4, we’re joined “live” in Studio Pleasant by special guest controversial commentator Andrew Bolt; Anthony reveals his new brand of Special Water; Babysitting with Michael Wincott; a paid political message from a minor political party; plus we give you the outside scoop on 31 Questions, Big Brother and the flimsy relationship between those two TV programmes.

It’s also got the most absurdly over-produced intro theme in the history of The Good Show, if not all shows that are good (It took me 6 hours to edit the first 65 seconds!). I’ve wanted to do a ridiculous over-produced “wall-of-sound-esque” intro for a while. Something that just makes fun of commercial radio imaging. Because really, it’s worthy of ridicule. I even blended in a few grabs from some American radio promos circa 1986/87, courtesy of YouTube and some guy with a cassette tape.

You can listen to Ep 4 of The Good Show, entitled “Andrew Bolt Loves Animals” via this embedded player thing:

    [display_podcast]

Or you can listen, download AND SUBSCRIBE to The Good Show on iTunes.

As hilarious and elaborately edited as our sketches are, I suspect it’ll be the cameo from Australia’s most read political blogger that’ll get people talking. So for your convenience, I’ve taken the liberty of isolating Andrew Bolt’s appearance on The Good Show.

Here is my gift to the Internet:

    Kind regards,

Been hanging on to that one for a while.

  • Crawf TV Episode 3 – The Legend of Crawf’s Gold

Check out the latest episode of Crawf TV, featuring me and TV’s Shane Crawford.

I haven’t quite worked out how to “embed” these videos, but you can watch it on Crawf’s website absolutely free of charge!

In Ep 3, Crawf talks parenting, chats with a “genuine” psychic and almost brains me with a tennis ball.

See the Internet television sensation critics are already unaware of.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
    That’s right.

  • Life of DMG – Ep 2 – Swinger

Here’s the much anticipated follow-up episode to the debut episode of Life of DMG – Moments from the life of David M. Green.

As you can see, by episode 2 we’re already getting into the swing of things.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green
    This is the life.
