• On The Yacht Final Voyage Tonight!

    Hey blog-trotters,

In approximately 3 hours we’ll begin the FINAL episode of our grossly unpopular satirical comedy/talk-back radio parody show “On The Yacht.” Tune in for one last time on Radio Adelaide 101.5FM at midnight Adelaide time to hear Adam, Norman Vine, Dr Kevin Goodall and Tim Wray (in the news room). But if you can’t make it, please don’t fret… I’ll post links to all the podcasts soon.

On The Yacht has been described by a random listener as: “Funny. At Times.” I think that comment sums up the show nicely.

    Kind regards,

  • Video Game Doctor Sketch

Hey folk… well, here it is:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idsuZXwTRm4

And there is was (above). My latest straight-to-YouTube sketch visualisation; the so-called “Video Game Doctor Sketch,” in which Mario, played by Nick Godfrey, goes to see Dr Eggman Robotnik MD (me) and discovers that a quarter of a century of his hectic “super” lifestyle has finally caught up with him… Did you pick all the Nintendo and Sega references?

Special thanks must go to Chandlers Hill Surgery in Happy Valley, for allowing us to film there and to use all their medical equipment (the x-ray monitor, stethoscope, the prescription drugs to keep us alert and focused). I also must apologise for the aspect ratio. I do have a full 16:9 widescreen version, but I for the life of me couldn’t take advantage of the new “widescreen” YouTube because it kept stretching it out of shape, so I hope the letterboxed version doesn’t throw too many die-hard Nintendo fans into a rage of nerd obscenities…

I must say I love making these sketches. It’s always a really fun afternoon of filming and evening of editing, plus it lets me live up to my status of self-proclaimed “sketch comedian.” So thanks again to Nick Godfrey, Matthew “Smiddy” Smith, Voice-Over’s Tim Wray and Lizzie for using her genuine receptionist skills on camera, and also for taking these photos:

  • (Sur)Real Interview with Larry David

    Hello,

Last year I flew to Los Angeles and interviewed ‘Seinfeld’ co-creator and star of HBO’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ Larry David, over lunch at an exclusive LA restaurant. You know, one of those fancy places where all the walls are painted different colours… I didn’t bring my video camera, as it was a radio interview, but I have reconstructed the events of that afternoon using still photographs taken at the time by a crazed fan… Enjoy.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green

  • Witty ’80s TV Commercial Nerd

    Salutations viewer!

David M. Green here. I was recently looking through an old cupboard and I found an equally old VHS tape of the 1985 Australian Grand Prix. Upon viewing the tape for nostalgic purposes, I noticed the original TV commercials, which were also included on the tape, were repeatedly ridiculous, and therefore worthy of ridicule. Thus the above “straight-to-YouTube” sketch, made for your amusement. It’s kind of like YouTube’s “Angry Video Game Nerd” but wittier and less angry… and not about video games obviously… Equally as nerdy of course. Enjoy.

    Kind regards,
    David M. Green

William Clark is an ordinary man, no different to any other… But he’s a man with an incredible secret… for beneath his non-descript business suit lies a heart packed with cholesterol! And when crime is afoot, William Clark reveals his true nature… He becomes… ANGINA MAN!
